Continuation methods for lab experiments of nonlinear vibrations

In this work, we will give an overview of our recent progress in experimental continuation. First, three different approaches are explained and compared which can be found scientific papers on the topic. We then show S-Curve measurements a Duffing oscillator experiment for derived optimal controller gains analytically. The formula stabilizing PD-controller makes trial error search suitable values unnecessary. Since feedback control introduces higher harmonics driving signal, consider harmonization forcing signal. This is important to reduce shaker-structure interaction treatment nonlinear frequency responses. Finally, controlled testing enhanced by continuation algorithm adapted from numerical analysis applied geometrically beam test rig measure forced response directly displacement-frequency plane.
